Poké Snacks are lures added to Cobblemon 1.7.0. They are prepared in a pot placed on a campfire with honey and berries, then used in the world to make a wild Pokémon appear according to the lure’s conditions. They do not capture anything automatically and do not guarantee a specific species.
Set Up a Campfire Pot
Start by checking the version of the modpack. The kitchen, the campfire pot, and the Poké Snacks are part of update 1.7.0, released on November 22, 2025. A recipe missing from an earlier version does not necessarily indicate a conflict. The Cobblemon installation guide helps to control the Minecraft version, the loader, and the dependencies.
Make a pot with the recipe displayed in your version, then place it on a campfire. There is a pot variant for each color of Apricorn. The official pot documentation remains the reference for the interface and recipes. Use the built-in recipe book when the server adds a datapack likely to modify a preparation.
Place the installation in an accessible and protected space. Provide separate lockers for honey, berries, and finished products. The kitchen shares several resources with cultivation and capture, so an organized storage prevents accidentally consuming the last berries needed for another objective.
Prepare a Poké Snack
The general formula combines honey with berries in the jar. The selection of berries gives the snack properties that influence the Pokémon likely to be attracted. Update 1.7.0 specifies that some berries also allow obtaining Pokémon with their hidden ability. This does not mean that any berry produces this effect.
Check the recipe and the tooltip before confirming. Note the type of bait obtained and prepare only one unit for the first trial. You can then increase production once you have confirmed the result on your server. The official patch notes for version 1.7.0 document the arrival of Poké Snacks, honey, berries, and the hidden ability mechanic.
Honey can become the bottleneck of a regular production. Set up a renewable source compatible with Minecraft and store the bottles or combs required by the recipe visible in your interface. For berries, replant before cooking a whole harvest. A snack is consumable, while a maintained crop continues to produce.
Choose the location before using the bait
A Poké Snack makes a wild Pokémon appear, but the conditions of the world remain important. Biome, time, weather, or available space can affect the Pokémon. So choose the location based on your real intention: encounter a category, look for a hidden ability opportunity, or simply complete the Pokédex.
Clear a safe area and maintain a line of sight. Avoid cliffs, lava, deep water, or enclosures that are too tight. Bring the appropriate team and balls before setting the bait. The Cobblemon Capture Guide recalls that an appearance is only the beginning of the attempt.
The official Poké Snack documentation details its categories and current usage. Rely on it rather than on an old list, as tables and behaviors can change. A video showing a species obtained once does not prove a general rate.
Distinguish appearance, talent, and capture
Three events must remain separate. The snack triggers or promotes an appearance depending on its properties. The ingredients can make a hidden talent possible in documented cases. The capture then depends on your action, the Poké Ball, and the usual rules. None of these points guarantees the other two.
Prepare several types of balls without wasting the specialized models. The comparison of Poké Balls explains their conditions. If you are aiming for a new entry, also keep the Pokédex available to observe and confirm the species before the battle.
On The Tower, capturing is never limited. Poké Snacks provide a method of encounter, not a permission or a quota. Permanent death only occurs in the Tower and during raids, nowhere else. Using a lure during regular exploration does not create a new permanent death zone.
Avoid costly mistakes
The first mistake is to prepare a full stack without reading the snack’s properties. The second is to use it in an incompatible or dangerous location. The third is to arrive without Poké Balls, without organized space in the PC, or with a team unable to control the encounter. Make a documented trial before any series.
Do not announce a hidden talent rate or a guaranteed species either if the interface and the documentation do not provide it. Release notes confirm the possibility linked to certain berries, but a possibility is not a certainty. Keep the name of the ingredients and the testing conditions to properly compare the results.
If the pot does not respond, check that it is correctly placed on a fire, that the recipe matches the version, and that the server has not modified it. After a reproducible failure, note the client and server version, the recipe, the biome, and the displayed message. This information helps distinguish a bad combination from a real defect.
A simple preparation loop
First, grow the berries and secure the honey. Then consult the current recipe, make a test snack, and select a compatible location. Prepare the team and the Poké Balls, use the lure, then identify the Pokémon that appeared before initiating the capture. Finally, store the new creature in the team or the PC depending on your goal.
This loop limits waste and turns each trial into useful information. It remains valid even when specific recipes or tables change, because it requires checking the version, the ingredient, the location, and the result separately.
